Introduction

You can enter Dark Cloud Mansion by speaking with Yiyen. You can find her on the small northwestern islet. To enter you must be part of a two-player party above level 78. You do not lose your buffs when you enter, so you can buff up outside with additional boxes on relog. However, since the instance lasts for 30 minutes, the optimal setup is a damage dealer and buffer/healer to rebuff and crowd control some hard hitting monsters.

The instance consists of some mob hunting between various minigames on the side rooms. The objective is complete each mini game to continue onto the next one. If you complete everything in the allotted time, you will receive a Contaminated Crystal. If you already possess one, you won’t get another since you can only have one Contaminated Crystal in your inventory at a time.

Steps

1. Speak with Yiyen to teleport into Dark Cloud Mansion
2. You will spawn in the room with the red tringle, with two monsters Kill them both and Dark Cloud Mansion Door will open.
3. Go into the corridor and kill all monsters. Once the last monster disappears, the Gate of Faith will open
4. Go inside the Room of Faith and do not hit Parme’s Healer until you both entered. Once inside, kill monsters and a Symbol of Faith will appear. Speak with it and return to the corridor
5. Once again, kill all monsters in the corridor. Once the last monster disappears, the Gate of Test will open
6. Once you enter the Test Room you will see 6 Black Stone Monolith. This is the first minigame in which you must find the correct sequence by selecting stones. The sequence does not reset if you select the wrong stone and you do not need to start from the beginning. Double-click on a stone, if it is the correct one it will emit a blue glow, otherwise a Chromatic Crystalline Golem will appear. Kill it and guess again.
7. Once all 6 Black Stone Monolith have been correctly identified, the Symbol of Adversity will spawn. Speak with it and return to the corridor.
8. Once again, kill all monsters in the corridor. Once the last monster disappears, the Midway Gate will open
9. Enter Midway Room. If you attack a monster the door will not close. Monsters are aggressive and hit hard. Try to crowd control either with trance or hold and move the monster you want to kill to the corridor (or vice-versa), do not try to sustain the damage. Once you clear the room, Adventurer’s Gateway will open.
10. Enter Adventurer’s Room and you will see multiple Shadow Columns. Per line, 3 columns can be destroyed while the other two cannot. You need to clear the three destroyable Shadow Columns on each line before moving to the next one. Zone debuffs, massive AoE that covers the whole room and Beleth’s Minions will spawn at random as you attack the Shadow Columns. DO NOT USE AOE SKILLS, you risk being instantly wiped. Clear all the way to the back of the room until you can reach the Symbol of Adventure
11. Return to the Midway Room and kill the monsters that respawned - same technique as before, crowd control and focus down monsters. Once you clear the room, the Gate of Trust will open
12. Enter the Room of Trust, take a breath because you will probably hate this room forever. There are 7 Beleth’s Sample, only 3 are True and the remaining are Impostors. You need to hit the three true monsters to win the minigame, in any order. You cannot use skills of any kind – you must auto attack the monster. If it is a True monster, it will disappear, if it is an Impostor, it will attack you and you will have to kill it to reset the mini game – you can now use skills. The monsters reset and the sequence changes. Wait for NPCs to speak before you attack, otherwise you must kill them all to reset. Sometimes it bugs out and none give dialogue, kill them all to reset. If a monster does not speak or says “Oops! Just act like the real one” it is an Impostor. If four mobs do not speak or speak that sentence, then the other three are the true monsters
13. Once you have correctly guessed the three mobs, speak with Symbol of Truth which will give you 1 Contaminated Crystal

• If both of you die, the instance instantly resets.
• If you fail to complete the instance within the time limit of 30 minutes, you will be ported out back to Yiyen, but you can reenter immediately since there is no reset or refresh time.
• If you have a Contaminated Crystal you can reenter, however you will not earn a new one should you complete the last minigame.
• On L2 Reborn there can only be 20 concurrent instances.
